Ellia Rhodes is a Director of Photography based in the UK and travels worldwide. A naturally calm person, who strives for cinematic excellence, to inspire and believes the story dictates her technical and artistic choices. She places great value in developing collaborative relationships with directors, producers and set designers. ‘Pre Production planning is key, as is problem solving’.
Ellia brings technical expertise, coupled with creative vision to projects - camera, lighting, visual composition - ensuring every shot enhances the narrative. She is experienced working on local and international projects.
Ellia started as a stills photographer when she was just 9, she was mentored for three years by a senior assessor of the Royal Photographic Society, gaining her RPS Licentiate Distinction at 17. Ellia’s passion for cinematography and the art of visual storytelling developed alongside her photography. While filming the documentary short ‘Implantology’, her enthusiasm soared.
Ellia mastered the craft of cinematography at the prestigious Met Film School, where she studies for her MA in Cinematography and is trained to film in both analogue and digital formats..
